A-boating we will go

That's right, it's getting to be summer now so today we took out the boat. I had spent a bit of time working on it. Getting the covers cleaned off, scrubbing it out, I even replaced the front footing area since it had a soft spot.

Since it's a fishing type of boat, the four adults + one 3 1/2 year old made it slow going. 14mph on the lake was dragging. If there two people only, it will cruise up to around 21 to 22mph. It was still fun finally getting it out on the lake though. Was a decent day for the majority of the voyage, but the rain clouds moved in and spoiled our fun.

Tomorrow is supposed to be the same, meaning rain in the afternoon. Monday is supposed to be the best day of the week. Maybe we can get the boat back out again, or I can get out and do some fishing. Time will tell, along with the weather.

I went out and purchased new submersible lights for the boat trailer, so I will change those out tomorrow. No need in getting a ticket for one light being on the outs. It was due for new lighting anyhow.

Daddy and Mommy work overload

Tonight was the final 2 Jeeps that needed a 'redo' of the vinyl on the sides. Add to that we had orders come in from a screen printer about cutting heat press lettering for shirts and you come up with a busy night.

As I sit here writing this, my wife is at her machine laying out the lettering for the plotter. Lucky her. I asked her if she needed help and she said no. Lucky me. The process is a bit much for what is made on the lettering, but we have a deal with the screen printer that makes money in other ways. If we need screen printing, we get it cheaper and if she needs the lettering, she gets it cheaper from us. Scratching backs type of deal at its best.

The screen printer will get charged a few bucks per name, which there are over 60 names I believe. I'm trying to not be too loud and disturb my wife and she's pounding away at her machine still. Anyhow, that will help a bit as we've had to order more of the material to fill the jobs on hand.

I only have one Jeep left but that's not until next Tuesday and I have a lead on a big banner. Banners are the best. You get the best profit off of those. Well, we do anyways. We still have a credit card to pay on that has had a balance since we bought our latest machine that prints on vinyl. It's an awesome machine though, just a bit older. Go go Ebay!

Now if we could get the engraving part of the business to take off we'll be set...for now. There is always something that stares us down, willing us to buy it. The last purchase was a MPX-70 engraving machine. It's a slick little box that can engrave on necklaces and keychains. We got a fairly good deal on it and from what we've made with it so far, I'm very impressed.

We are hoping with the spring fever run that just started we can bring in a lot of money to start paying these bills off. Who knows, if we keep up with everything, we could actually make a tidy profit for new equipment purchases...weeeee!

Mother's Day and the lawnmower

It's the weekend, and I was trying to be woke up by a pesty 3 and a half year old. I won. 10:30AM I roll off the couch. It seems that as I was 'chillin' on the couch last night, I dozed off. I'm up just in time to find out that Mom and Daughter are getting ready to go to Mamoo's house down the street to plant flowers as a Mother's Day gift. Being the wonderful Daddy that I am, I head out with them. No shower, no hair brushing. Just grab a hat and head out. As a side note, hats are great when you are lazy and don't want to try and fix the mop of hair you wake up with. Anyhow...
