Blogging

The sixth and final part to my series called My quest for extra income is finally here. This final part will deal with our goal of extra incoming cash through blogging.

Follow up:

In the last section, I had discussed our online adventure of ecommerce by selling tshirts. Well, the online bug has hit us and we've started blogging. I am doing a blog with the shirt site and this one that you are reading now. My wife is doing her own blog on the familyuse.com site that you can see by clicking on 'Tazzee'.

Now, while we haven't made much money with blogging yet, we have made some. Just by adding the Goggle Ads that you see inline with some posts and off to the right in the sidebar, we have generated income. Google's rules state you can't say how much, but I can say that for the sites being so young, I am surprised we have generated anything at all yet.

Getting the blog name out is first and foremost. I have read around at a lot of blogging sites discussing good tactics and the majority have stated to network like crazy. Get to know people and get links. The more popular you become, the more hits you get. The more hits, the more likely it will be that a visitor will click a link and you'll get paid for that click.

Lots and lots of content. That is the phase that I am working on now. Fortunately, that fact never ceases to be true. The more you enter, the better off you are, so you enter more and get better each time. Well, this is good for me because I am a pit of useless knowledge that would make any Jeopardy contestant envious. And as most will find out, I'll share these buts with the blog community. I just hope someone can make some good out of it.

Like I had referenced in my section about ecommerce, time time time. It takes time and work to get your blog out there. Dont' be under the impression that you will start blogging and a week later a check for millions will be at your door. It won't, I am sorry to be the one to tell you that. However, check out places like ProBlogger and suck in as much information as possible that helps you promote your blog and language skills.

Hell, if you get good enough, you could check out places like Pay Per Post and make money with each blog.

In summary, it's work. If you don't want to work at it, you'll be mediocre at best and won't generate enough income to even pay off the hosting for your site. If you can put the time and effort into it, and read up on all the resources about blogging, you could be cashing checks that you never thought you'd see in your lifetime. It's up to you!
