Gary Dell'Abate flubs the pitch

I am what you would call a semi-loyal Howard Stern fan. I'm not hinged on their every word. I don't sit and cry when it's not on. Instead, I listen to it when I can and get a few laughs. Well, today is no exception to the laughs I usually get. As all Stern fans know, Baba Booey (Gary Dell'Abate, the Stern show producer) threw out the ceremonial first pitch to the Mets game last night.

OK, if you think to yourself, that's not that bad for not being a regularly playing pitcher of any type of league, let me give you a major reason why the flub makes it so funny. Gary had worked with a pitching coach shortly after accepting the offer of throwing the first pitch for that game. He was goaded on the Stern show that he HAD to throw it from the rubber (from the mound itself) and he was determined to make it happen. Not only to shut up his coworkers, but also because his kids would be there and he didn't want to embarass them. Well, he lost on both accounts. Sorry Booey, your kids will get over it pretty quick, but the rest of the staff at work? Well, good luck with that.

I will say though, he did get it 'fairly' close. I am sure I wouldn't be able to throw it even that well. Of course, I am a fan of the Howard Stern show and have every right to poke fun as well.
